Abstract

The number of adolescents with postural disorders and obesity is increasing, which can result in serious problems if not addressed in time. Being overweight and obese at puberty can have short-term as well as long – term health consequences. Physical inactivity in this period of life leads to hypotrophy of the muscles, reduced muscle tone, limited mobility in the joints, which, along with improper sitting, improper posture, favors the development of postural deformities. Poor eating habits in early adolescence help to acquire non – physiological positions, which can lead to serious damage and impaired health. Through the scientific review of the literature, many studies have clearly indicated the need for children to be actively involved in physical activities, and as early as possible, in order to work on the prevention and elimination of obesity, malnutrition and postural disorders.
