Abstract

The kidney is the bearer of numerous functions in the body, and it arises as a result of complex embryonic development, and it is believed that maturation continues in the first weeks of life. In premature babies, nephrogenesis is influenced by other factors and often stops prematurely, leaving such individuals with a reduced number of nephrons, which can affect renal function in the long run. In order to gain insight into the maturity of the kidneys and glomerular bodies of premature babies, tests are performed on fetal kidneys, but assessment methods are not standardized and generally accepted, so it is important to point out different classifications and advantages and disadvantages of some, depending on gestational age which is being studied.
